Modern Triangular Roofed Houses
In traditional rural villages, homes were often built near rice fields.
However, the new homes in Ogata, agricultural land and residential areas are completely separated.
Feature modern triangular roofs, reflecting a shift toward progressive farming and a new approach to rural living.
The residential area was developed on the western side of the village, around a central hub that includes public facilities such as the village hall, schools, a fire station, and a shopping district.
The area is situated on sandy soil.
When the houses were first built, there were no trees or greenery along the roads or around the homes.
However, more than 50 years later, the streets are now lined with mature trees, creating a lush, green environment.
As the number of settler families grew, many homes were expanded or renovated, and the original designs of the houses are gradually fading from view.
