The Drainage System

The Northern and Southern Pumping Stations are responsible for draining the water that gathers in the Central Main Drainage Canal.
Additionally, the Hamaguchi Pumping Station regulates the water level of the Western Conduit.
After the embankment was closed off in 1963, the two pumping stations began their drainage operations, which continue to this day. In 1964, about one-third of the land emerged from the lakebed, and ceremony was carried out.
